I did not restart the i-Pad app or the mixer.

That was the silver bullet, everything worked, and once again the changes I made on the iPad were visible and the two apps were in sync. So, simply double clicking on the icon reactivated a zombie program in a bizarre state.Īnyway, I then sure killed the process with the task manager and restarted it. I tried exiting and restarting the PC UC Surface instance but it didn't help.Īt that point I pulled up the task manager and found out that UC Surface had not shut down when I exited, it was left running. I confirmed that they were not talking, updates on the iPad UC Surface instance were not reflected on the PC instance of UC Surface and visa-versa. The iPad was attached to the mixer, it was not complaining. I walked out to the studio and didn't see my iPad entered changes of the channel names, I also did not see the pans and levels. OK, it just happened again sans-crash this time. Is anyone else having synch issues between multiple UC Surface instances or random application errors? Being a hardware/software/systems engineer by day I know that it would not be fair to point fingers at this point there are too many variables - it could even be my DAW. Everything started working again, all of the changes I had made on my iPad earlier in the morning suddenly showed up.Īnyway, I was left feeling "Battle Scarred", thinking I was nuts for contemplating replacing my old rock solid gear with something that was less solid. I could not re-start it from the Universal Control AI applet - rebooting the RM32AI did not help.įinally, shut down the RM32AI, and rebooted my PC and brought the RM32AI back online. I tried recording on the DAW in Capture and it worked and then I started playing with UC Surface on the DAW again and it threw an exception and died. OK, so I wan't freaked yet, just confused.

Grabbed my coffee and went down to the studio and noticed that not all of my changes were reflected in the UC Surface instance on my DAW in the studio, I was experimenting this morning and made a bunch of changes to channel names from my iPad instance while upstairs in bed.
